Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer - Software Development for Traction Control Systems to join our Rolling Stock department in Madrid. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for:

  • Determining and documenting requirements for drive control software
  • Defining software architecture and documentation using modeling tools
  • Participating in the definition of software design and implementation
  • Agreeing and documenting system interfaces of the software
  • Designing and describing required software components based on software requirements
  • Programming control software using a graphic development tool
  • Integrating control unit software on the target platform and documenting functionality
  • Planning software testing (developer, component, and function test)
  • Monitoring quality of intermediate results of the software development process (verification)
  • Determining suitability of completed software (validation, EN 50657)
  • Developing software tools (SW tools, scripts)
  • Organizing and describing software configuration management
  • Creating vehicle simulation as a test environment for software tests
  • Elaborating and documenting development standards

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A technical degree in electrical engineering, computer sciences, mechatronics, or a comparable field
  • Previous knowledge of the rolling stock business
  • Professional experience with structured software development in traction control systems, preferably in the railroad industry according to EN 50657
  • Traction system knowledge: traction converters and electrical motors
  • Fluency in English (at least C1-level or equivalent)
