Key Responsibilities- Design and Implement Geospatial Services: You will be responsible for designing and implementing geospatial data services using open-source technologies such as eoAPI (STAC, dynamic tiling) and up-stream changes in these libraries required to serve our client's applications.
- Collaborate with Earth Science and Cloud Infrastructure Communities: You will work with earth science and cloud infrastructure communities to develop best practices and tools for geospatial data services.
- Advocate for Cloud-Optimized Data Formats and Services: You will be an advocate for cloud-optimized data formats and services, promoting their use and adoption within our organization and the wider industry.
- Work in the Open: You will work in the open, contributing to open-source projects and sharing your knowledge and expertise with the wider community.
- Minimum of 3 Years Professional Experience: You will have a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in collaborative software development.
- Experience with Developing APIs in Python: You will have experience with developing APIs in Python, using frameworks such as FastAPI.
- Experience with Containerization and Orchestration: You will have experience with containerization and orchestration, using tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with Open-Source Geospatial Technologies: You will have experience with open-source geospatial technologies, including implementations of STAC and OGC API standards.
- Interest in Service-Oriented Architecture: You will have an interest in service-oriented architecture and be able to design and implement geospatial services that are scalable and maintainable.
- Experience with Git, GitHub, and Collaborative Code Development: You will have experience with Git, GitHub, and collaborative code development.
- Ability to Work in a Distributed, Remote Setting: You will be able to work in a distributed, remote setting and be comfortable communicating with colleagues and stakeholders remotely.
- Contributed to Open-Source Geospatial Technologies: You will have contributed to open-source geospatial technologies and have a strong understanding of the latest developments and trends in the field.
- Familiarity with Cloud-Optimized Data Formats: You will have familiarity with cloud-optimized data formats, including Zarr, COG, GeoParquet, and n-dimensional data handling in the cloud.
- Willingness to Communicate with Stakeholders: You will be willing to communicate with stakeholders and be able to articulate the value and benefits of geospatial data services to non-technical audiences.
