Job Summary

Ferrovial is seeking a highly skilled Renewable Energy Developer to join our team. As a key member of our Renewable Energy Development team, you will be responsible for managing the origination and development of renewable energy projects, including onshore and offshore wind, solar PV, and energy storage systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify optimal locations for renewable energy project development, considering factors such as land availability, grid access, and environmental impact.
  • Negotiate and secure land rights, building strong relationships with landowners and local communities.
  • Lead the permitting process, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of necessary permits, licenses, and authorizations.
  • Secure grid access and interconnection rights, minimizing environmental and social impact while meeting technical requirements.
  • Develop and implement solutions to ensure project feasibility from an investment and financing perspective, including energy sales models and other attributes.
  • Establish and maintain commercial and strategic relationships with potential clients, partners, and collaborators in each market.
  • Contract and manage development services providers, technical advisors, and consultants to support development activities.
  • Maintain relationships with local, regional, and national administrations, DNO/TSO, and other entities/agencies to expedite permit processing.
  • Collaborate with construction and business areas, serving as the primary point of contact for renewable energy development expertise.

Requirements

  • Engineering degree in electrical power systems and/or electrical engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven track record and experience in a similar role, with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
  • Preference given to candidates with experience working directly for renewable energy developers, familiarity with project permitting, and experience in the design and construction of renewable energy projects.
  • Strong understanding of grid access permitting and grid connection agreements.
  • Experience in projects in America, Europe, and Australia valued.
  • Ability to travel as needed for project opportunities.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, strategic vision, and commercial acumen.
  • Proactive, autonomous, flexible, and able to prioritize tasks, with a strong problem-solving capacity.
  • English language proficiency at an intermediate level (B2).
