About the Role

We're seeking a highly skilled Cloud Security Engineer to join our team at Google. As a Cloud Security Engineer, you will play a critical role in protecting our cloud infrastructure and ensuring the security of our users' data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Incident Response: Support investigations into abuse, espionage, and cybercrime against cloud environments, providing technical guidance to product teams based on observed threats.
  • Threat Intelligence: Oversee the generation of comprehensive intelligence reports and briefings using data from various sources, including sensors and incident reports.
  • Analysis and Mitigation: Conduct analysis of open-source information to identify threats related to corporate brand, customer trust, supply chain incidents, and data loss, and respond to vulnerabilities with repos, mitigations, and hardening.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience: 2 years of experience with security assessments or security design reviews or threat modeling, and 2 years of experience with security engineering, computer and network security, and security protocols.
  • Coding Experience: 2 years of coding experience in one or more general-purpose languages.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Design and Implementation: Experience designing or implementing scalable data pipelines, threat intelligence feeds, machine learning or rule-based detection solutions, or cyber-security researcher tooling and workflows.
  • Intelligence and Investigation: Experience with all-source intelligence or open-source investigative tools and methods.
  • Security Tooling: Experience building security tooling.
  • Cloud Security: Experience in tracking, detecting, and identifying adversary infrastructure across cloud platforms.
  • Research and Influence: Excellent research skills, with the ability to influence others.
About Google Cloud Product Security Engineering

Google Cloud Product Security Engineering (PSE) is responsible for ensuring that Google Cloud products are secure. PSE owns and drives the product security strategy for Google Cloud. The team works with Google's infrastructure on solving infrastructure security problems.

The PSE Threat Intelligence team is focused on integrating threat intelligence into the product security life-cycle by identifying threats and potential risks to Google Cloud infrastructure and customers. The goal is to understand the cloud threat landscape against Google Cloud with a focus on closing any gaps discovered by current and emerging threats.
