About the Role

As a Senior Workplace Health and Safety Specialist at Amazon Road Transport Spain, S.L.U., you will play a crucial role in driving improvements in workplace safety and health across our operations. Your expertise will be instrumental in maintaining high standards, fostering a culture of safety and inclusivity, and ensuring compliance with Amazon's policies and legal regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage health and safety programs, collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to drive improvements.
  • Analyze data reports and root causes to provide leadership with the information needed to make informed safety-related decisions.
  • Provide guidance and support for health and safety projects and policies, ensuring alignment with Amazon's safety standards.
  • Drive initiatives to improve technical equipment specifications and designs within Amazon, enhancing safety and efficiency.
  • Travel within the region to support site-based activities and collaborate with teams.

This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to Amazon's safety culture, managing health and safety standards while improving functionality and efficiency. You will work closely with your team to implement changes in response to employee feedback and seize opportunities to continuously improve processes.

About the Team

Our Workplace Health and Safety team plays a critical role in maintaining the well-being of our employees, ensuring compliance with Amazon's policies and legal regulations, and promoting a safe working environment. We work closely with managers, associates, and local governments across our sites to achieve these goals.

Requirements
  • Education to a degree level and qualification in Técnico Superior en Prevención de Riesgos Laborales (including specializations in Seguridad en el Trabajo, Higiene Industrial y Ergonomía & Psicosociología aplicada) following Spanish Health and Safety regulations.
  • Professional training in a technical profession, preferably mechatronics or electrics.
  • Relevant experience managing projects and complying with local Health and Safety legislation.
  • Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English and Spanish.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Lean, 5S, and Kaizen methodologies.
  • Qualifications or experience in the field of sustainability.
  • Relevant experience communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, including peers and leadership.
  • Chartered membership of a Human Resources industry body (e.g., IOSH) to support people management.
  • Strong stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and controls systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
