About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Center Construction Manager to join our team at Amazon. As a Data Center Construction Manager, you will be responsible for managing the construction of our data centers, ensuring that they are built to the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the construction of data centers, including site feasibility, design review, construction oversight, and commissioning.
  • Develop and implement project plans, timelines, and budgets to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and contractors to resolve project issues, manage RFIs, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct constructability reviews and provide input on design and construction methods to ensure efficient and cost-effective project delivery.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and contractors to ensure timely and high-quality project delivery.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, identifying and mitigating risks to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to team members, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and resources to deliver high-quality results.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Structural, Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or relevant work experience.
  • 7-10 years of experience in design, construction, or program management in mission-critical facilities.
  • Proven leadership and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders, contractors, and vendors.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction-related drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of Australian building codes and regulations, including Fire Codes, Building Codes, Energy Efficiency Codes, Sanitary Codes, and Safety Codes.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the design or construction of large data center facilities, either colocation or client-owned/operated.
  • Previous experience with fast-track design/build projects and multiple significant upgrade projects.
  • Knowledge of large-scale technical operations or compute farms.
  • Experience with mechanical and power systems, including air handling units, power management, and power monitoring systems.
  • Work experience with global international companies, both in the APAC region and within US-based organizations.
