Credit and Collections Specialist EMEA

As a Credit and Collections Specialist EMEA, you will play a crucial role in driving financial performance and ensuring timely payments from customers across the EMEA region. This position is part of the EMEA Financial Shared Service Centre and will be located in the Phenomenex Italian Office in Bologna, Italy.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor accounts in the assigned collection portfolio and ensure timely payments are made, with a focus on meeting monthly targets such as Cash Received, DSO, Dispute resolution, and Bad Debts.
- Ensure all relevant data is logged in the Credit Management tool Trust-It and that all actions are taken on a daily basis.
- Make proactive phone calls to customers and internal stakeholders to gather feedback and improve the collections process.
- Assist in other collection areas and maintain cross-functional communication with multiple teams.
- Reduce and improve order backlogs.
- Be a proactive player in improving Working Capital.
- Communicate work done to the Manager Credit & Collections with fact-based data.
- Provide backup support to the Manager Credit & Collections, including cash reporting to teams/stakeholders, approval of credit notes, and data upload to PowerBi/Invoices in Trustit.
- Finance or Business-related Secondary vocational education plus 5 years of experience in Credit & Collections in academia, government, and blue-chip organizations across multiple countries.
- Track record of achieving DSO improvements and hitting cash collection targets.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset, with the ability to act consistently and compliantly under pressure.
- Fluent in English, with preferred language skills in Spanish and Italian.
- Ability to work independently and under stretch targets.
- Previous experience in setting up or improving a collections process, with a focus on delivering continuous improvements.
- Good understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- 'Can Do' and 'Let's Do It' attitude.
