About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Site Reliability Engineer to join our team at EPAM Systems. As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability and performance of our production systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the availability and performance of production systems, identifying and resolving issues in a timely manner.
  • Develop and implement automation scripts to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement technical solutions.
  • Conduct regular monitoring and analysis of system performance, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, ensuring that all relevant information is up-to-date and accurate.
  • Participate in on-call rotations, providing 24/7 support for production systems.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, applying this knowledge to improve our systems and processes.
Requirements
  • Extensive experience in creating, improving, and/or supporting technology systems with varied hands-on experience of releasing technical solutions for clients, preferably in a Microsoft environment.
  • Strong MS SQL knowledge with the ability to interrogate data stores and investigate the resulting data set.
  • Strong PowerShell or similar scripting experience.
  • Experience in C# is highly desirable.
  • RDBMS optimization skills would be a plus.
  • Knowledge of OOP language is a plus.
  • Wide and inquisitive interest in Windows and general technology and ability to turn your hand to many different technical problems.
  • Automation first mindset with an interest in improving efficiency of processes and systems.
  • Experience working with RESTful services, SQL databases, AMQP.
  • Previous experience with Bitbucket, Control-M, Grafana, Jira, Octopus, TeamCity, or similar technologies.
  • Passionate about the robust nature of the technologies under your ownership and will take pride in delivering productivity, quality, and reliability.
  • Good understanding of ITIL processes, in particular a structured approach to continuous improvement of the production environment.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and precisely with technologists and business users at all levels.
  • Respect for timelines and have an "in built" urgency to resolve issues in a timely way.
  • Great team player with your colleagues, never playing the "blame game" when problems arise.
  • Form strong, honest, and mutually respectful relationships with the key client, visiting their office as required.
  • Ability and willingness to learn new technologies and expand.
