The Group Audit (GA) function operates with a focus on business needs, risk assessment, and maintains a culture of transparency, integrity, and accountability. The GA Credit Risk Management team is pivotal in achieving the objectives of both the function and the organization.

Acting as an independent and proactive advisor to the Credit Risk department, we strive to enhance operating models for non-financial risk management. This commitment is integral to our cultural transformation. GA serves as the third line of defence, ensuring the efficacy of our control measures.

In this role, you will be recognized as an individual contributor, assisting the business in pinpointing and mitigating high-level risks, while providing critical insights into the effectiveness of our systems. Management values your independent perspective and objective assurance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cultivate a comprehensive understanding of credit risk domains and associated functions.
  • Conduct audit testing and collaborate with team members to ensure that audit fieldwork is directed towards critical areas and that documentation adheres to high-quality standards.
  • Identify potential risks, evaluate mitigating controls, and propose enhancements to the control environment.
  • Formulate commercially viable audit conclusions and findings, presenting them to senior management and business stakeholders.
  • Monitor the resolution of outstanding audit findings.
  • Engage in organization-wide initiatives aimed at continuously refining GA's processes and supporting infrastructure.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Strong team player with a pronounced sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Highly driven, capable of managing multiple tasks while remaining organized in a fast-paced setting.
  • Independent thinker with the ability to challenge and be challenged, maintaining the highest standards of professionalism.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a professional or internal audit capacity within the financial services or banking sector, or in a related control function.
  • In-depth understanding of both practical and theoretical aspects of credit risk management, supported by formal qualifications or relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with operating in a highly regulated environment.
  • Proficiency in the German language is advantageous.
