QA Manager Job Description

At 2K Games, Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled QA Manager to join our team in Madrid. As a QA Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the quality assurance process for our games, ensuring that they meet the highest standards of quality and excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise allocated projects and ensure timely completion.
  • Lead a team of Senior Lead QA Testers, Lead QA Testers, and QA Testers, providing guidance and feedback.
  • Collaborate with Functional & Compliance QA, Producers, Developers, and other External Departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
  • Liaise with Platform Holders to ensure compliance with guidelines and standards.
  • Jointly sign-off development milestones and manage the submission process.
  • Manage bug reports, bug database, and QA reports.
  • Oversee department operations on a day-to-day basis.
  • Conduct performance appraisals of direct reports and address disciplinary issues as necessary.
  • Build and maintain successful working relationships with Worldwide Development Studios, QA Department, Local Producers, Platform Holders, Producers, and developers.
  • Participate in the recruiting and interview process.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, internally and externally.
  • Strong management skills, including successfully handling ambiguity, flexibility, and understanding of the development process.
  • Knowledge of bug database systems, QA process, test plan creation, and bug writing process.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Lead QA Tester or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of format holder standards (Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo).
  • Hardworking, reliable, punctual, and flexible to work unsociable hours depending on deadlines.
  • Knowledge of MS Office suite, Source Control, and Visual Studio.
  • Technically proficient with PCs, gaming consoles, and related hardware.
  • Ability to liaise with other departments.

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to communicate effectively and successfully in English, in both written and oral forms.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience.
  • PC hardware literate.
  • Mastering literate.
  • Passion for the video games industry.
  • Willingness to adopt a broad overview of the department.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, communication skills, and management skills.
  • Reliable with the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail and positive personality to foster excellent working relationships.
