About the Role

Airbnb is seeking a seasoned executive to lead its Spanish-domiciled insurance business. As Senior General Manager, you will be responsible for managing the company's insurance operations, compliance, and performance. This role requires fit & proper approval by the Spanish Directorate General for Insurance and Pension Funds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute the company's insurance strategy in partnership with the global Insurance Solutions team and internal cross-functional partners.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of relationships with key stakeholders, including insurers and business partners.
  • Establish and monitor agency OKRs and lead monthly and quarterly business reviews.
  • Collaborate with regional support and enabling teams to ensure the company's success.
  • Provide oversight of key functions within the company and ensure they produce desired results.
  • Act as a thought leader for the company and represent it at global external and internal events.
Requirements
  • At least 12 years of experience in the general business of insurance industry, with 7 years in a managerial position.
  • Compliance with relevant fit and proper requirements pursuant to Spanish law.
  • Fluent Spanish and English, with additional languages a significant advantage.
  • Substantive knowledge of insurance products and the insurance market.
  • Experience creating and managing risk and compliance processes.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
