About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Lead to join our team at EPAM Systems. As a Technical Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the development of a back-end team that will be working on an oversight platform for managing trade generation activity for one of the world's biggest hedge funds.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop sophisticated tools and collaborate with sophisticated investors
  • Work closely with various technology teams, including UI/UX Design, backend engineering, and platform engineers
  • Lead the development of the oversight platform, ensuring it is highly functional, beautiful, and intuitive

Requirements

  • Strong computer science fundamentals with a mastery of back-end development
  • 10+ years of professional software development experience in technically rigorous environments
  • Excellent design skills, with a focus on security, OOD, SOLID, GRASP, KISS, YAGNI, DRY, etc.
  • Experience as a Team Lead/Solution Architect
  • Experience in Scala development or back-end experience in any popular language (Java/.NET) and open to studying Scala
  • Strong algorithmic and debugging skills
  • Wide experience with CI/CD, SDLC, Agile, and Design patterns
  • Excellent soft, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Nice to Have

  • Experience in leading teams of 4-6 engineers
  • Java developers without Scala experience but willing to switch to Scala
