About the Role

CIDETEC Energy Storage is seeking a highly motivated and experienced researcher to join our Energy Materials Unit. As a Solid State Battery Researcher, you will play a key role in the development of advanced battery technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, characterize, and optimize solid state batteries (SSB) to meet project key performance indicators (KPIs), including failure and post-mortem analysis.
  • Investigate the physical-chemical and electrochemical properties of solid electrolytes, electrodes, and cell components.
  • Manage laboratory staff and oversee project management.
  • Analyze and interpret data, and write project proposals, technical reports, patent applications, conference abstracts, and scientific manuscripts.
  • Participate in technology transfer and scale-up of developed materials and technologies.
  • Conduct literature and patent searches to identify new materials, technologies, and processes.

Requirements
  • PhD in Electrochemistry, Physics, or Materials Science.
  • Excellent knowledge of technical electrochemistry, advanced batteries, and material science.
  • 3+ years of direct experience in lithium battery R&D, including SSB, Li-ion, and Li-metal.
  • Conceptualization of R&D activities in cell development and characterization.
  • Solid knowledge and hands-on experience with electrochemical and physical-chemical characterization methods.
