Embedded Firmware Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Embedded Firmware Design Engineer to join our team at Siemens Gamesa. As a key member of our converter control firmware design team, you will be responsible for implementing control algorithms, communications, monitoring, alarms, and low-level firmware implementation for peripherals like I2C, SPI, CAN, or ADC.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement firmware for power electronics converter control modules
  • Develop and maintain low-level firmware for peripherals
  • Analyze requirements documents and create detailed specifications
  • Verify changes implemented in the firmware
  • Manage software versions using a version control tool
  • Participate in converter validation and ensure compliance with design requirements
  • Adhere to quality processes through test procedures
  • Collaborate with other engineering teams for product testing and certifications
Requirements:
  • At least 3 years of experience in embedded firmware development using C language
  • Deep knowledge of embedded systems and real-time operating systems
  • Experience in firmware design for SoC, DSPs, and microcontrollers
  • Control engineering basics and VHDL programming
  • Electronic instrumentation and digital hardware design basics
  • Knowledge of digital signal processing and analysis, diagnosis, and problem-solving skills
  • Fluent in Spanish and English
  • Basic knowledge of power electronic converters and electrical machines
