In this role, you will work closely with the Communications Hardware Teams to innovate and deliver top-tier software solutions for our 5G NR and ORAN hardware platforms. The evolution of 5G and ORAN is transforming the industry, presenting a unique opportunity to engage in strategic projects that drive this change.
As an essential member of the team, you will contribute to the design and development of system software modules for 5G Radio Units. In your senior capacity, you will have the chance to influence and enhance all stages of product development. You will collaborate with your colleagues, actively engaging in feasibility studies, requirements gathering, architecture design, implementation, integration, and verification processes. You will be part of a multi-site development team, working closely with a dynamic group of hardware and software engineers to deliver practical software solutions.
We are looking for highly motivated and innovative software engineers with backgrounds in electrical and computer engineering, possessing strong knowledge and experience in some or all of the following areas:
Qualifications:
- A BS/MS in Electronic or Software Computer Engineering with a minimum of 3 years of experience in embedded software development.
- Proficient in Linux/C/C++ programming.
- Experience with embedded platforms and embedded Linux application development.
- Familiarity with SCM tools (GIT, SVN, etc.) and defect tracking tools (Jira, SVN, etc.).
- Comprehensive understanding of the software development life cycle, software configuration management tools, and the software release process.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills for interpreting requirements and creating design documentation.
- Ability to thrive in a distributed development environment.
- A curious and adaptable approach to work and learning.
- A solid work ethic and enthusiasm are valued more than specific skills.
Additional Skills and Experience that would be advantageous:
- Strong understanding of a software development process (e.g., Agile).
- Knowledge of one or more scripting languages, such as Python.
- Experience with CI/CD tools, software testing, and quality assurance.
- Familiarity with RF systems.
- Understanding of O-RU architecture, O-RAN split 7-2x fronthaul, C/U/S & M planes, and ECPRI interfaces.
- Knowledge of radio subsystems and operation of RF measurement equipment (e.g., Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators) is a plus.
