Cyber Risk Underwriter for Middle Market in Iberia

Reporting Structure: Directly reports to the Middle Market Segment Leader with a secondary reporting line to the Financial Lines & Cyber Underwriting Manager.
Objective of the Role:
To establish, execute, and meet underwriting profitability targets aligned with the business strategy for Cyber and Infotech sectors. Ensure the integrity of underwriting practices through the effective application of guidelines and controls, maintaining a consistent approach to risk assessment, pricing strategies, and optimal capacity utilization while being mindful of prevailing market conditions.
Core Responsibilities:
Assess and underwrite new Cyber & Infotech business and intricate renewals in line with established underwriting criteria, budgetary limits, and local strategic plans. Portfolio Oversight: Develop and implement an underwriting strategy, conduct forecasting, and manage the portfolio to achieve profitability. Ensure quality assurance within the designated area by performing quantitative reviews to identify top-performing segments. Product Innovation: Identify and enhance products within the Cyber Line to boost client retention and attract new business. This includes collaboration with colleagues across various business lines in Europe. Sales Strategy: Actively represent and advocate for Chubb among brokers to enhance market presence. Develop a targeted approach and a defined plan for broker engagements. Maximize cross-selling opportunities in conjunction with other business lines. Collaborate closely with the Middle Market Segment Leader to optimize new business prospects and strengthen the Chubb brand within the broker network in Spain. Compliance and Governance: Adhere to all organizational policies, controls, and reporting obligations. Operate within the framework of Chubb service standards, ensuring compliance with policy documentation, timelines for quoting new and renewal business, and ethical standards.Required Skills and Experience:
A university degree in IT, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field. Native or bilingual proficiency in Spanish; strong command of English. A minimum of 4-5 years of experience in the insurance market, specifically in underwriting and sales, with a solid understanding of industry practices. Experience in a multinational corporate environment. In-depth knowledge of Cyber products and the Spanish insurance landscape. Proven track record in managing broker and client relationships, with strong negotiation skills to secure profitable business in line with underwriting guidelines. Results-oriented with the capability to make independent decisions within the framework of technical underwriting guidelines and strategic objectives. Experience in underwriting and risk assessment without reliance on reinsurance markets. Excellent communication and commercial acumen. Client-focused with a strong business orientation. Awareness of how individual underwriting choices influence overall business outcomes. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
