Commercial Data Governance Lead

Argenx is seeking a highly skilled Data Governance Lead to join our Business Information Systems (BIS) team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for establishing, deploying, and enforcing policies and procedures for end-to-end data governance to ensure data is used and maintained properly.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee Data Integrity and Security: Ensure the integrity, usability, and security of all data assets, including data quality, security, and compliance.
- Compliance and Quality Assurance: Check compliance against data governance policies and standards, and ensure best practice documentation of policies.
- Data Stewardship: Work with data stewards to identify and address data quality issues, and track quality remediation efforts.
- Automation and Improvement: Identify and implement automation opportunities to improve compliance and data quality, and implement data quality monitoring and improvement measures to meet data quality thresholds as defined by business users.
- Reporting and Governance: Guide data stewards in monitoring activities for each data governance component, and support reporting of enterprise-wide data quality metrics.
- Deployment and Support: Heavily support deployment activities, including compiling an up-to-date data catalog and ensuring consistent data definitions, and maintain an overall understanding of industry landscape to ensure that we are deploying best-practice solutions.
- Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years working either in a biopharmaceutical company or a consulting organization with focus on the life sciences sector, and minimum 5 years working in a data management capacity.
- Skills: High analytical capability with history of leveraging data and analytical techniques to optimize business decisions, thorough knowledge and operational skills in data governance, data quality methods, storage repositories, and tools, and experience designing and deploying automated data quality issue identification and remediation tools.
- Education and Qualifications: Understanding of the industry landscape and global regulatory requirements, such as GxP, HIPAA, and GDPR.
