About the Role

The Data Governance Lead will play a critical role in driving the business strategy at Roche, collaborating closely with teams across the organization to bring new therapies to the market and maximize the launched product portfolio.

This is an exciting opportunity to influence the direction of the company in a disease area, with a truly international experience depending on where your interests take you.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and Maintain Data Governance Frameworks: Develop, deploy, and maintain Data Governance frameworks and policies across the systems, ensuring alignment with business priorities.
  2. Own and Act as SME on Data Governance Policies: Own and act as the Subject Matter Expert on Data Governance policies, enabling business priorities and ensuring adherence to regulations.
  3. Develop and Maintain Enterprise Information Maps: Develop and maintain an inventory of the enterprise information maps, including systems, owners, and associated processes.
  4. Establish and Govern Enterprise Data Governance Implementation Roadmap: Establish and govern an enterprise data governance implementation roadmap, aligning strategic priorities of CxI.
  5. Build Enterprise Wide Data Governance Framework: Build an enterprise-wide data governance framework, focusing on the improvement of data quality and the protection of sensitive data through modifications to organizational policies and standards.
  6. Partner with Stakeholders: Partner with several different stakeholders and functions in implementing the data governance solutions across the affiliate network.
  7. Facilitate Adoption of Data Quality and Protection Standards: Facilitate the adoption of data quality standards, data protection standards, and adoption requirements across the enterprise via partnering and influencing without authority.
  8. Oversee Relevant Work and Deliverables: Oversee relevant work and deliverables, coordinating with assigned internal resources and external consultants (onshore/offshore).
  9. Ensure Adherence to Regulations: Ensure adherence to various regulations, such as CCPA, GDPR, and other Data Privacy regulations applicable to the organization and our industry, partnering with Data Privacy experts within and outside GPS.
  10. Manage Stakeholder Relationships: Manage and maintain stakeholder relationships in a cross-functional environment relevant to the DG function.
  11. Create and Own Budget: Create and own the budget, ensuring that assigned projects are executed within the planned budget.
  12. Own and Manage Data Cataloging Efforts: Own and manage the data cataloging efforts across the GTM stream.
Requirements
  1. Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent: A Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  2. Minimum of 8-10 Years of Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience of structuring and managing data governance functions.
  3. Minimum of 6+ Years of Experience in Commercial/Medical Pharma-Biotechnology Industry: Minimum of 6+ years of experience in commercial/medical Pharma-biotechnology industry.
  4. Strong Knowledge of Industry Leading Data Governance Practices: Strong knowledge of industry-leading data governance, data quality, and data protection management practices.
  5. Strong Knowledge of Data Governance Practices: Strong knowledge of data governance practices, business, and technology issues related to the management of enterprise information assets and approaches related to data protection.
  6. Knowledge of Data-Related Government Regulatory Requirements: Knowledge of data-related government regulatory requirements and emerging trends and issues.
  7. Proficient in All Functions Related to Data Governance: Very proficient in all functions related to data governance applicable to the life sciences industry, centered around commercial and medical functions.
  8. Hands-on Data Stewardship Experience: Hands-on Data Stewardship experience in the commercial/medical life sciences domain.
  9. Good Exposure to Industry Standard Data Governance Framework: Good exposure to industry-standard data governance framework.
  10. Prior Work Experience on Technology Platforms: Prior work experience on technology platforms like Collbra will be a plus.
  11. Proficiency in Data Privacy Regulations: Proficiency in data privacy regulations like CCPA, GDPR, HIPAA, etc.
  12. Experience in Leading Cross-Functional Teams: Experience in leading cross-functional teams on various projects and processes.
  13. Experience Working in a Matrix Organization: Experience working in a matrix organization, leading resources within the organization as well as external consultants - onshore/offshore.
  14. Excellent Interpersonal Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written), be proactive, self-initiator, and collaborating attitude.
