Cost Optimization Engineer

Tecnicas Reunidas, a leading Oil & Gas International Engineering and Construction Company, is seeking a highly skilled Cost Optimization Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our project delivery team, you will play a crucial role in identifying and implementing cost reduction alternatives, ensuring that our projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Provide support to project leaders and engineering teams in identifying and implementing cost reduction alternatives.
- Benchmark design against historical performance, industry norms, and client standards to provide alternative designs that meet customer requirements.
- Facilitate value workshops and identify opportunities for process enhancement.
- Manage communications and workshops with clients, as required.
- Prepare multi-discipline conceptual and definitive cost reduction proposals for capital projects.
- Break down silos, improving communications and enabling individuals to contribute to a team solution.
- Provide recommendations that will be incorporated into corporate specifications and standards for future projects.
- Translate project scope and proposed alternatives into an estimate of capital expenditure costs.
- Identify areas of uncertainty and apply appropriate allowances.
- Collect actual and alternative cost performance data in coordination with the in-house Estimation Support team.
- Develop metrics and benchmarking information for future use.
- Stay up-to-date with significant developments in new technologies and materials through close review of technical literature, contacts with contractors, and attendance at professional and technical meetings.
- Degree in an engineering discipline.
- 10-15 years of experience, including at least 5 years devoted to petrochemical, refinery, chemical, or power generation projects as a senior specialist or project engineer.
- Advanced industry expertise and a proven ability to develop a deep understanding of industry trends and strategic opportunities.
- Familiarity with construction practices, materials, and equipment.
- Ability to work with project teams, build relationships with internal and external clients, and work with international cultures.
- English language proficiency.
- Salary depending on experience.
