Position Overview

Gameloft Barcelona, the creative force behind acclaimed titles like Asphalt 9: Legends and Disney Speedstorm, is on the lookout for a skilled Lead Game Designer to enhance our dynamic team. Our studio is celebrated for its cutting-edge and commercially successful games.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate closely with the Creative Director, Studio Manager, Game Manager, and other key leads to articulate and implement the game vision. Shape the game's tone, gameplay mechanics, and overall structure, emphasizing innovation within a successful Free-to-Play model. Guide the design team to ensure a unified experience throughout the game and its services. Oversee level design teams to ensure alignment between gameplay mechanics and player progression. Partner with economy designers and product managers to optimize revenue through effective live-ops strategies. Proactively identify and address potential quality and innovation challenges. Cultivate collaborative relationships across various departments, including Art, Technology, Online, Data, Audio, and Production. Strategically allocate and manage resources in conjunction with managers and producers. Engage in the recruitment process for new game designers.

Required Qualifications

A minimum of 6 years of experience in game design, with a focus on lead or senior roles. Proven track record of successfully launching at least 2 titles in a lead or senior capacity. Expertise in various aspects of game design, including gameplay, balancing, UI, and UX. Exceptional communication and leadership abilities. Up-to-date understanding of the gaming industry and current trends. Capacity to maintain a strong creative vision while being adaptable. High level of visual creativity and a deep passion for game development. Familiarity with industry-standard tools such as Jira and Trello. Proficiency in English.
