Job Overview

Gameloft is seeking a highly skilled Lead Game Designer to join our team in Barcelona. As a key member of our game development team, you will be responsible for defining and executing the game vision, leading the design team, and ensuring a cohesive experience across the game and service.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Game Vision and Strategy: Collaborate with the Creative Director, Studio Manager, and other team leads to define and execute the game vision, focusing on innovation and a thriving Free-to-Play ecosystem.
  2. Design Leadership: Direct the tone, gameplay, and meta structure of the game, leading the design team to ensure a cohesive experience across the game and service.
  3. Level Design and Coordination: Coordinate and direct level design teams to ensure synergy between mechanics and progression.
  4. Revenue Maximization: Work with economy designers and product managers to maximize revenue through a live-ops plan.
  5. Quality and Innovation: Anticipate and mitigate threats to quality and innovation.
  6. Collaboration and Communication: Foster a collaborative relationship with various departments, including Art, Technology, Online, Data, Audio, and Production.
  7. Resource Allocation: Allocate and plan resources in collaboration with managers and producers.
  8. Recruitment: Participate in the recruitment process for game designers.
Requirements
  1. Experience: 6+ years of experience in game design, including lead or senior GD positions.
  2. Track Record: Shipped at least 2 successful titles as a lead or senior GD.
  3. Game Design Skills: Proficiency in game design aspects like gameplay, balancing, UI, UX, etc.
  4. Leadership and Communication: Strong communication and leadership skills.
  5. Industry Knowledge: Up-to-date knowledge of the gaming market and trends.
  6. Agility and Creativity: Ability to maintain a strong creative vision while remaining agile.
  7. Visual Creativity: High visual creativity and passion for game development.
  8. Industry Tools: Experience with industry tools like Jira and Trello.
  9. Language: Fluent in English.
