Position Overview
Gameloft Barcelona, the studio responsible for acclaimed titles like Asphalt 9: Legends and Disney Speedstorm, is in search of a skilled Lead Game Designer to enhance our creative team. Our Barcelona studio is celebrated for its innovative and commercially successful games.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the Creative Director, Studio Manager, Game Manager, and other team leaders to articulate and implement the game vision. Guide the tone, gameplay, and overall structure of the game, emphasizing innovation and a robust Free-to-Play model. Oversee the design team to ensure a unified experience throughout the game and its services. Coordinate with level design teams to ensure harmony between gameplay mechanics and progression. Work alongside economy designers and product managers to optimize revenue through a live-ops strategy. Identify and address potential risks to quality and innovation. Cultivate collaborative relationships with various departments, including Art, Technology, Online, Data, Audio, and Production. Plan and allocate resources in partnership with managers and producers. Engage in the recruitment process for game designers.Required Qualifications
A minimum of 6 years of experience in game design, including roles as a lead or senior game designer. Proven track record of shipping at least 2 successful titles in a lead or senior capacity. Expertise in game design elements such as gameplay, balancing, UI, and UX. Excellent communication and leadership abilities. Current knowledge of gaming market trends. Capability to maintain a strong creative vision while being adaptable. High level of visual creativity and enthusiasm for game development. Familiarity with industry tools such as Jira and Trello.
