About the Role:

The Compliance Officer will be responsible for ensuring that the Financial Institution's Compliance requirements are met, and that adequate policies, procedures, and internal control measures are in place to prevent, detect, and correct noncompliance.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Provide reasonable assurance to senior management and regulators that Compliance requirements are met, and that the institution's Compliance frameworks are effective and efficient.
  2. Establish and implement procedures to ensure that Compliance frameworks are consistent with regulatory requirements and the institution's policies and procedures.
  3. Oversee Compliance within the Financial Institution and ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements, policies, and procedures.
  4. Endorse the role of Money Laundering Reporting Officer/ Anti-Money Laundering Compliance Officer.

Main Activities:

  1. Manage relationships with local regulators and ensure that the institution's Compliance policies and procedures are adapted to local regulatory requirements.
  2. Define the annual Compliance work plan that reflects the institution's characteristics and growth.
  3. Manage and review the analysis of suspicious activity alerts and decide on the transmission of suspicious activity reports to competent authorities.
  4. Take decisions as per delegation received on the scope of responsibilities and ensure documentation and tracking of decisions.
  5. Contribute to Compliance Risk Assessment Process, aggregate and report on Compliance risks for the Financial Institution, and provide recommendations for remediation of identified deficiencies.
  6. Collaborate with the business to follow up on timely remediation.
  7. Improve the Compliance permanent control process as necessary, provide guidance, advice, and training on Compliance topics for the institution's staff and stakeholders.
  8. Prepare and present clear and concise Compliance reports to senior management and the Compliance Committee.

Managerial Scope:

  1. Define appropriate governance and organization within the Financial Institution, taking into account local regulations and the institution's specificities.
  2. Plan, organize, and execute day-to-day operational Compliance activities.
  3. Roll-out objectives and validate annual priorities with input from the Compliance Department.
  4. Represent the Compliance Function in the Financial Institution's management committee.
  5. Contribute to Compliance reporting and Committee.

Reporting: The Compliance Officer reports to the Chief Compliance Officer of the Financial Institution.
