Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly analytical and results-driven Chief Financial Officer to join our leadership team. As the first hire for our finance function, this individual will be responsible for setting up and optimizing financial systems and controls, as well as building and managing the future finance team to support the company's growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and Align Financial Strategies: Collaborate with the leadership team to establish and implement financial strategies that align with the company's overall goals and objectives.
  2. Financial Planning and Budgeting: Manage financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and regular reporting to ensure compliance and effective investor relations.
  3. Financial Analysis and Forecasting: Analyze key financial metrics, such as gross margins and customer lifetime values, to inform strategic decisions and forecast financial outcomes based on current trends and initiatives.
  4. Team Leadership and Development: Build, train, and lead the finance team, optimizing staffing and performance to support the company's growth.
  5. Cash Flow and Funding: Oversee cash flow, funding, and day-to-day financial operations, including payrolls and procurement.
  6. Financial Systems and Processes: Implement and refine financial systems and processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  7. Investor Relations: Coordinate with investors and financial institutions, participating in fundraising and strategic investor discussions.
  8. Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure adherence to financial regulations and standards, managing the company's risk profile.

Requirements:

  1. 7+ years of experience in a finance leadership role, preferably in a startup or high-growth environment.
  2. Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities.
  3. Ability to work flexibly and adaptively in a high-growth, dynamic environment.
  4. Leadership skills to manage both senior financial strategists and operational finance staff.
  5. Excellent communication skills for both internal team management and external investor relations.
  6. Strong understanding of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  7. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or MBA preferred.
  8. Excellent analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
  9. Significant experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
  10. Ability to work independently in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  11. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Full professional proficiency in English; Spanish and Portuguese are a plus.
