Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Geographic Information Systems Specialist to join our team in Madrid, Spain. As a key member of our Digital Management division, you will play a critical role in designing and maintaining robust enterprise Geodatabases using the ESRI platform.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in GIS software, particularly the ESRI suite, and experience in designing and managing enterprise GeoDatabases. You will be responsible for:

  • Requirements gathering: Working closely with stakeholders to understand their spatial data needs and requirements.
  • Database design: Designing the structure of the GeoDatabase to ensure optimal performance and data integrity.
  • Data modeling: Developing data models that reflect the client's requirements, processes, and workflows.
  • Data migration: Coordinating the auditing and migration of existing spatial data into the client's enterprise GeoDatabase.
  • GeoDatabase administration: Configuring and administering the client's GeoDatabase to ensure optimal functionality and security.
  • Metadata management: Establishing metadata standards and documentation procedures for the GeoDatabase.
  • Quality assurance: Implementing quality assurance processes to validate the accuracy of spatial data within the GeoDatabase.
  • Training and support: Providing training and support to users on how to access, query, and update spatial data.
  • Integration: Integrating the GeoDatabases with other client's enterprise systems and applications.
  • Spatial analysis: Performing spatial analysis tasks using ESRI tools to support decision-making.
  • Documentation: Documenting all aspects of the client's enterprise GeoDatabase design and implementation.
  • Continuous improvement: Keeping abreast of latest ESRI technologies and best practices.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Highly proficient in spoken and written English (Level C1 Advanced).
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience with GIS software, particularly the ESRI suite.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and managing enterprise GeoDatabases.
  • Expertise in database design and spatial data modeling.
  • Proficiency in database management systems (DBMS).
  • Strong understanding of spatial data formats and GIS data standards.
  • Proficiency in SQL and database querying languages.
  • Familiarity with ETL processes for data migration.
  • Experience with geospatial web services.
  • Microsoft Office skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop working relationships with clients and project teams.
  • Skilled in presenting to groups of stakeholders.
Desirable Skills and Experience
