Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Infrastructure Engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing self-service platform services and developer tooling that focuses on reliability, usability, and provides the appropriate level of abstraction from cloud infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Work with engineering teams across MongoDB to investigate gaps and limitations in existing development workflows and understand new infrastructure and platform requirements.
  2. Design and implement self-service platform services and developer tooling that focuses on reliability, usability, and provides the appropriate level of abstraction from cloud infrastructure.
  3. Regularly write and review automation, configuration management, and application code.
  4. Author and review functional specifications and scoping documents for large platform projects and services.
  5. Own and operate much of the internal development platform that runs MongoDB.

Requirements

  1. Pragmatic, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and understands the benefits of collaboration.
  2. Provides guidance and coaching to entry-mid level engineers.
  3. Takes a software-driven approach to solving problems and routinely uses git to track progress.
  4. Familiar with software engineering principles, dependency injection, composition, and test driven development.
  5. Experience designing/implementing medium/large scale software projects (preferably with Go).
  6. Familiar with standard authentication protocols (e.g OAuth).
  7. Familiar with the development of web services and/or Kubernetes controllers.
  8. Experienced performing deep technical analysis and fixing applications, systems, and networks.
  9. Strong Linux and TCP/IP networking skills.
  10. Solid knowledge of cloud infrastructure.
