Associate Language Specialist

Job Purpose: RWS Spain is seeking a skilled English-Spanish/Catalan linguist to join its in-house translation team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality language services and support to the translation team, resulting in excellent customer satisfaction through tasks and projects, further developing language skills, techniques, and methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Excellence: Provides high-quality and accurate translations as part of a larger project team.
- Effectively understands source language content and applies appropriate style and terminology to the target language.
- Utilizes organizational and time management skills to deliver assignments on time and within budget.
- Delivers Quality, Value, Results: Meets required standards for quality by understanding and correctly applying SDL's linguistic and project processes and procedures.
- May provide linguistic quality assurance (QA) testing of localized translations (e.g., software, help, websites, DTP, and audio output).
- Effectively learns and utilizes translation tools (e.g., SDL's language technology) to ensure the highest quality output.
Functional Excellence:
- Learns important translation and linguistic tools (e.g., SDL Studio) by actively participating in both formal and informal learning opportunities such as training programs and on-the-job experience.
- Applies learnings to develop higher levels of proficiency in translation skills, specialized knowledge (e.g., industry, linguistic), and cultural standards associated with source and target languages.
