About the Role

Morningstar DBRS, a leading provider of independent rating services, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Legal Advisor to join our team. As a critical member of our organization, you will be responsible for providing strategic legal support to our business leaders and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide legal support to commercial business initiatives and collaborate with our business development team to drive growth.
  • Negotiate and advise on contracts, agreements, and other legal documents related to our business operations.
  • Work closely with our Compliance team to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and maintain a strong compliance culture.
  • Support the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure effective risk management and compliance.
  • Collaborate with our Marketing and Communications team to ensure that our brand reputation is protected and our messaging is compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Stay up-to-date with legal developments and emerging trends in the credit rating industry to ensure that our organization remains competitive and compliant.

Requirements

  • Law degree and admission to practice as a solicitor in Germany, Spain, or England.
  • At least 5 years of corporate, transactional, or financial services experience, with a focus on credit rating, capital markets, or regulatory/compliance.
  • Strong business acumen, leadership skills, and the ability to influence.
  • Excellent English language skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
