About the Role

Morningstar DBRS, a leading provider of independent rating services, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Legal Advisor to join its team. As a critical member of the organization, you will be responsible for providing strategic legal support to commercial business initiatives and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide legal support to commercial business initiatives, including negotiating and advising on contracts, agreements, and other business documents.
  • Work closely with the Compliance team to ensure that Morningstar DBRS is properly managing legal compliance and regulatory responsibilities.
  • Support the commercial legal needs of the Morningstar Credit Analytics team, including negotiating agreements with potential clients.
  • Ensure that Morningstar DBRS and MCA commercial activities are conducted in accordance with applicable laws and commercial requirements.
  • Stay up-to-date with legal developments, particularly those affecting the credit rating agency industry.

Requirements

  • Law degree and admission to practice as a solicitor in Germany, Spain, or England.
  • At least 5 years of corporate, transactional, or financial services experience, with credit rating, capital markets, or regulatory/compliance experience being an advantage.
  • Strong English language skills, with other languages being an advantage.
  • Strong business acumen, leadership skills, and the ability to influence.
  • Excellent judgment and analytical skills, as well as first-class interpersonal and communication skills.
