About the Role:
Street Child is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance Officer to join our team in Barcelona, Spain. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for managing and enhancing our financial operations across Europe, with a particular focus on Spain.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Management:
- Manage and maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, and general ledger.
- Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and laws, including tax compliance and statutory reporting.
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective financial management.
- Financial Planning and Analysis:
- Develop and maintain financial models and forecasts to support business planning and decision-making.
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support business growth and development.
- Identify and implement opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Financial Reporting and Compliance:
- Prepare and submit financial reports to stakeholders, including management, board of directors, and regulatory bodies.
- Ensure compliance with financial reporting requirements, including tax returns and statutory reports.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, and general ledger.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and program teams, to ensure effective financial management and support business growth.
- Communicate financial information and insights to stakeholders, including management, board of directors, and regulatory bodies.
Requirements:
- Experience in finance, accounting, and administration within a foundation or similar organization in Spain.
- Strong knowledge of Spanish administrative and financial regulations.
- Equivalent or above secondary education.
- A Good understanding of double entry bookkeeping.
- Full or partial Accountancy qualification.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in financial software and systems.
Desirable:
- Experience with Aqilla or similar financial management systems.
- Previous experience in a non-profit or international organization.
- Familiarity with supporting European or international finance functions.
Other Requirements:
- A strong commitment to Street Child's vision, mission, and values.
- Flexibility regarding seniority and role responsibilities.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English and Spanish.
