The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Manager to lead our cross-functional software development team. As a key member of our product engineering organization, you will be responsible for building and leading a team of engineers to develop new innovative software solutions. You will interact and collaborate with various Solera product management and engineering teams across multiple locations.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Manage a cross-national team of engineers, supporting the team and helping develop career development paths.
  2. Communicate effectively both within the immediate team and leadership, ensuring the team receives consistent messages and has a clear understanding of business direction, strategy, and results.
  3. Support and implement the organization's initiatives.
  4. Mentor junior resources and provide guidance to ensure all development standards and practices are adhered to.
  5. Pursue continuous improvement in development processes, standards, and quality.
  6. Coach, mentor, and lead a diverse group of lean/agile software engineers.
  7. Work directly with stakeholders to understand business and technical needs.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
  2. 5+ years managing development teams. Hands-on experience with Agile (Scrum or XP) and test & behavior driven development, continuous integration, and version control.
  3. Demonstrable experience in developing software applications.
  4. Related DevOps tools experience a plus (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Sonar, Jenkins, etc.).
  5. Experience in managing teams responsible for building scalable and highly available distributed systems.
  6. Strong problem-solving abilities and capable of articulating specific technical topics or assignments.
  7. Experience in breaking down problems and estimating time for development tasks.
