**Job Summary**

The Indirect Tax Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and timely fulfillment of VAT compliance obligations within the regional finance organization of Bunge in Barcelona. This position will support the development of the indirect tax technology strategy, focusing on automation and continuous improvement of VAT processes and internal controls, while ensuring compliance with Bunge's policies and procedures.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Proactively follow up and resolve issues found in the reconciliation and VAT compliance process.
  • Ensure VAT, Intrastat, and ESL are reported correctly and timely for assigned VAT registrations.
  • E-file declarations in a secure internet environment.
  • Work closely with the cash team to ensure accurate and timely payments.
  • Perform VAT reconciliations and collaborate with the Accounts Payable team and Execution teams to ensure correct VAT treatment of transactions.
  • Provide training to internal departments to expand their VAT knowledge and ensure the VAT compliance status of the company.
  • Advise on ad hoc VAT issues.
  • Support the Indirect Tax Team with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Support local Tax managers in handling external VAT Audits and queries.
  • Participate in projects to improve VAT compliance processes.

**Requirements**

  • 3+ years of experience as an Indirect Tax Specialist.
  • 3+ years of professional practice in multinational companies.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English, with German being a plus.
  • Significant experience in accounting and knowledge of European VAT rules and regulations.
  • Numerical and analytical skills, as well as system knowledge (SAP, SAP S/4 HANA).
