Job Description

Rijk Zwaan Italia S.r.L. is seeking a highly skilled Tomato Breeding Specialist to join our team in Almeria, Spain. As a key member of our breeding team, you will be responsible for developing new tomato varieties for the winter protected cultivation market segment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement breeding strategies to create innovative and high-performing tomato varieties.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to understand market needs and preferences.
  • Conduct phenotyping, evaluation, and administration of selection and variety trials.
  • Travel internationally to judge variety trials and participate in strategic discussions about the breeding program.
  • Work closely with stakeholders, including customers and research institutes, to set up variety trials.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Horticulture, Agriculture, Applied Biology, or Plant Breeding.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and administrative skills.
  • Proficiency in English and Spanish languages.
