Job Summary
The Westinghouse Electric Company is seeking a highly skilled Additive Manufacturing (AM) Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our Supplier Performance Engineering team. As an AM SME, you will be responsible for supporting the development and qualification of new products, identifying project risks, and mitigating actions. You will also be responsible for maintaining industry-leading AM knowledge through training, research, and process councils.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead AM supplier development and qualification activities for new products, including identification of project risks and mitigating actions, managing project schedules, approval of supplier process documents, process capability analyses, measurement system analyses, etc.
- Maintain industry-leading AM knowledge through training, research, process councils, etc.
- Drive continuous improvement with our AM suppliers through supplier evaluations and flawless launch processes, using disciplined problem-solving approaches.
- Mentor and train members of the SPE teams on AM.
- Lead complex AM issue recovery efforts.
- Maintain a close relationship with his/her peers in the SPE teams to share best practices, drive process standardization, and coordinate on global cost-out and continuous improvement projects that require SME support.
Requirements
- Bachelor Degree or higher in Engineering.
- Graduate studies in additive manufacturing desired.
- Minimum 10 years relevant industry experience, such as AM LPBF development and production.
- Minimum 5-years of experience in the nuclear or related energy industry (desired).
- Experience performing process capability analysis (Cpk) and qualifications.
- Effective communication with different disciplines and functions.
- Respectful negotiation and conflict resolution.
- Proactive approach to work/risk management.
- Results-oriented and self-driven.
- Questioning attitude and continual interest to learn and develop.
- Effective decision maker timely and using data, facts, input, etc.
