Job ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities
We are seeking a Technical Operations Supervisor to join our pre-opening team at SLS Barcelona. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will oversee the upkeep of equipment and manage all facets of preventive and corrective maintenance throughout the hotel, including pools, communal areas, kitchens, and guest rooms:
Lead and provide constructive guidance to team members to ensure adherence to safety protocols, efficient operations, and effective maintenance and repair practices. Assist in compiling consumption reports for utilities such as power, water, steam, and gas. Ensure that maintenance and repairs conducted by external contractors comply with established health and safety standards, contractual agreements, and pricing structures. Perform necessary maintenance tasks as required. Train and oversee the maintenance team to ensure high standards of service. Attend to various repair and maintenance tasks across hotel facilities. Engage in the hotel's energy conservation initiatives. Respond promptly to all maintenance requests and repair needs. Monitor inventory levels of building-related supplies to ensure adequate stock. Conduct maintenance and repairs on a variety of equipment, including laundry, kitchen, HVAC systems, pumps, motors, fans, and fire safety systems. Support the Engineering Manager in preparing monthly maintenance reports. Create a list of spare parts necessary for engineering operations. Assist in organizing the team's workload to ensure timely project completion. Oversee teamwork to ensure deadlines are met and work is performed to established standards, including scheduled preventive maintenance. QualificationsDesired Qualifications
Relevant qualifications in engineering or maintenance disciplines. A minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance roles (including masonry, plumbing, and electrical repairs). Ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment. Previous experience in hospitality or tourism sectors is advantageous. A positive, proactive, and energetic demeanor with a strong team-oriented approach and a passion for service excellence. Proficiency in English is highly valued. Demonstrated ability to take ownership of significant issues, resolve problems, and make sound decisions. Flexibility to meet the hotel's operational needs, including availability during nights, weekends, and holidays. Quick learner with the ability to adapt to the unique culture of SLS. Open-minded and receptive to new ideas, fostering a collaborative work environment. Willingness to embrace innovative approaches and experiences.
