Job Title:

Senior Postdoc Researcher with Experience in Solid Waste Valorisation at the BETA Technology Center

Job Description:

The BETA Technology Center is a dynamic and multidisciplinary team of researchers seeking a Senior researcher with experience in environmental technologies for valorising solid waste streams. The selected candidate will join the environmental technologies and circular bioeconomy team and work on the technical execution of several competitive and technology transfer projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Technical management of European projects
  • Design and optimization of bioreactors and other environmental technologies
  • Development and operation of pilot plants for the treatment and valorisation of waste
  • Monitoring of the performance of pilot plants both at laboratory and pilot scale in a real environment
  • Analysis and processing of results
  • Preparation of technical reports and scientific articles
  • Participation in the preparation of new proposals for attracting funding
Requirements:
  • Doctorate in the field of Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, Environmental Sciences or similar
  • University degree in the field of Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, Environmental Sciences or similar
  • Certification of Level C1 in Catalan or commitment to obtain it
  • Accreditation of Level B2 English or commitment to obtain it
  • At least 3 years of postdoctoral experience in the field of the post
  • Experience in design, operation and optimization of bioreactors and/or other processes
  • Experience in experimental design and processing of results
Merits:
  • Teaching experience at university level
  • Level B2 or more in languages other than English
  • Accreditation by an academic Quality Agency
  • Research experience: Have carried out research stays with research groups in other European universities
  • Previous participation in European projects
  • Previous participation in technology transfer projects with companies
  • Experience in the preparation of proposals to attract competitive funding
  • To have had supervised other researchers/technicians
