Postdoctoral Researcher in 2D Material-Based Environmental Sensors - Thermal Properties of Nanoscale Materials

Job Description:

The ICN2 is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team in the Thermal Properties of Nanoscale Materials research group. The successful candidate will work on the development of selective solid-state gas sensors for the monitoring of greenhouse gases.

The project aims to address the needs of the scientific community by developing a novel platform for the monitoring of climate change gases. The researcher will design and fabricate conductometric humidity sensors based on 2D materials, set up impedance spectroscopy measurements, and characterize the sensors in a humidity-controlled chamber.

The ideal candidate will have a PhD degree in Physics, Chemistry, Material Science, or Engineering, and hands-on experience in electrical characterization techniques for sensors, 2D material synthesis and nanofabrication, and structural characterization techniques for 2D materials.

The researcher will work independently, use their own initiative, and be proactive in their approach to work. Excellent organizational and time-management skills are essential, as well as the ability to deliver timely and high-quality outputs.

The contract is part of the TED B-C22 project, funded by the MCIU/AEI/ and the European Union NextGenerationEU/PRTR.

Requirements:
  • PhD degree in Physics, Chemistry, Material Science, or Engineering
  • Hands-on experience in electrical characterization techniques for sensors
  • Experience in 2D material synthesis and nanofabrication
  • Experience in structural characterization techniques for 2D materials
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently and use own initiative
