Job Description

i2CAT's Digital Social Technologies department is seeking a highly skilled researcher to join our team. As a Senior Researcher, you will play a key role in driving innovation and advancing our understanding of the complex relationships between technology, culture, industry, and society.

We are looking for an individual with a strong background in social research and a deep understanding of the Fourth Helix model. You will be responsible for analyzing, developing, and implementing human-centered technologies and innovations that prioritize user needs and social impact.

The selected candidate will work on the European project FORGING, which aims to harness the transformative potential of emerging technologies and embed value-sensitive considerations throughout the innovation journey. You will contribute to the development of a new methodology based on a value-sensitive innovation journey that breaks linear innovation trajectories and stimulates new technological visions and pathways.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Understanding of the Fourth Helix Model and its dynamics
  • Cultural intelligence and interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Human-centered technologies and innovation
  • Expertise in digital, green, and social transitions

Specific tasks will include social and environmental impact assessment, monitoring and evaluation of progress and performance, promoting technology acceptance and uptake by industry, and co-definition of research and market needs.

We require a Ph.D. degree and background as a social researcher, with experience in technology-society relations from an applied perspective.
