Zurich Insurance Company is seeking a Configuration Manager to oversee the comprehensive development environments and infrastructure for a Guidewire-based global application that is critical to our business operations.
In this role within the core GPP IT team, you will play a vital part in ensuring the stability and availability of both development and production environments in collaboration with our IT hosting partner. Your responsibilities will include managing configuration procedures aimed at enhancing efficiency, ensuring seamless workflows, and maintaining a 99.9% uptime for the application. Key tasks will encompass vulnerability management, coordinating product releases with the IT hosting partner, API management, and addressing ad-hoc requests from various internal IT teams.
You will collaborate with a diverse team of Project Managers, Business Analysts, developers, testers, and business stakeholders from around the globe, all dedicated to building, implementing, operating, and maintaining innovative underwriting pricing products across multiple lines of Commercial Insurance. Your role is crucial in ensuring a stable operational environment.
Additionally, you will have the opportunity to engage with developers to deepen your understanding of Guidewire software development and expand your expertise over time.
Your Responsibilities
As a Configuration Manager, your primary duties will include:
- Ensuring the stability and availability of GPP development and production environments.
- Collaborating with internal Zurich technical teams to ensure compliance with IT security and software standards.
- Managing any modifications to environment configurations.
- Working closely with the IT hosting partner to coordinate higher environment deployments and manage ad-hoc tasks.
- Monitoring higher environments using corporate tools to promptly identify and resolve issues.
- Keeping environments updated regarding vulnerabilities and software versions.
- Handling Service Now incident tickets related to GPP environments.
- Managing system outages and coordinating restoration efforts with all necessary teams.
- Ensuring effective collaboration with other IT teams.
- Reviewing and maintaining up-to-date environment documentation.
Your Skills and Qualifications
As a Configuration Manager, you should ideally possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Studies, or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills with a knack for problem identification.
- A proactive, self-motivated attitude with a willingness to learn quickly.
- A positive mindset and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent prioritization and execution skills under pressure.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Critical thinking abilities.
- Exceptional customer service and relationship management experience.
- Experience with Service Now is preferred.
- Familiarity with coding or Guidewire would be advantageous.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
