Senior Liability Underwriter

Position Overview:
As a Senior Liability Underwriter, you will report directly to management and collaborate closely with the underwriting team.Department Insights:
- Focus on underwriting casualty insurance.
- Engage in commercial activities, effectively liaising with brokers and clients.
- Handle both new business and renewal applications, ensuring proper underwriting authority is maintained.
- Review documentation including submissions, underlying policies, and loss records.
- Utilize various rating tools and support systems such as Rulebook, DOT, PowerBI, RFID, and Peer Reviews.
- Drive the growth of the casualty division, managing underwriting tasks like pricing and risk assessment in line with our risk appetite and guidelines.
- Build and nurture relationships within the LSM market, leveraging commercial acumen and a strong broker network.
- Manage complex renewals, negotiating terms with brokers and evaluating exposure and loss history.
- Become proficient with in-house tools and systems to enhance underwriting efficiency.
- Oversee all underwriting-related tasks, including file completion and participation in peer reviews.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and demonstrate adherence to the Conduct Risk Policy, emphasizing customer-centric values and integrity.
- Relevant university degree or higher education qualification, preferably in Law.
- Significant experience in casualty underwriting.
- Comprehensive understanding of insurance contracts, particularly in casualty underwriting and related liability lines.
- Strong communication skills.
- Proven ability to take responsibility and meet performance targets, with a professional demeanor when interacting with brokers and clients.
- Demonstrated initiative, autonomy, and proactivity are essential for success in this role.
- Highly organized and service-oriented.
- Commitment to professional development and career growth.
- Fluency in both Spanish and English, with the ability to communicate effectively in a professional context.
