About the Role:
The Casualty Senior Underwriter will play a key role in supporting the growth of the Casualty business in our Madrid office. This position will be responsible for underwriting tasks, such as pricing and assessing liability risks, following our risk appetite, Underwriting Guidelines and Treaty framework.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting the underwriting team in our Madrid office to drive business growth and profitability.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with brokers and clients to identify new business opportunities and negotiate renewal terms and conditions.
- Assessing and pricing complex risks, including large and complex risks, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Staying up-to-date with industry trends and developments to ensure the company remains competitive and compliant.
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless underwriting processes and effective risk management.
- Adhering to all relevant regulatory requirements and demonstrating behaviors as set out in the Conduct Risk Policy.
Requirements:
- Appropriate university degree or higher education qualification (Law Degree preferably) or equivalent.
- Understanding of insurance contracts with experience in Casualty underwriting, including large and complex risks.
- Good level of communication skills and ability to work effectively with brokers and clients.
- Ability to assume responsibility, work against measurable performance targets, and demonstrate a professional and confident approach.
- Fluent in Spanish and English, with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely in a professional manner.
