Job Title: Global Category Manager - Transportation

The Global Category Manager – Transportation is a key role within Indirect Procurement Transportation, responsible for developing and executing strategic initiatives to drive optimal sourcing results globally.

This role will lead the procurement of Transport, creating and driving key initiatives to bring a future procurement vision to life. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining, driving, and executing global category strategies for the different Transportation categories, managing costs, and driving savings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and execute global category strategies for Transportation categories to achieve optimal sourcing results.
  • Manage costs and drive savings through should-cost models, cost reductions, and value creation.
  • Lead contractual discussions with suppliers within the portfolio of managed categories.
  • Align strategies and targets with Regional Leads in the organization.
  • Present annual Transportation strategies.
  • Drive state-of-the-art global sourcing initiatives and ensure quality of regional initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain proactive communication with internal stakeholders.
  • Develop supplier relationships with strategic suppliers to provide world-class service and products.
  • Develop risk management strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Support the vision and mission of the company and its procurement department.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in sourcing/procurement of Transportation.
  • 25% travel expected to international sites.
  • Bachelor's degree with concentration in procurement, supply chain, engineering, business administration, or related fields.
  • MBA preferred.
  • Proven ability in utilizing and leveraging e-sourcing/procurement systems.
  • Experience in spend analysis, contract development, and execution.
  • Ability to develop best practice sourcing methodology and category strategies.
  • Excellent social and communication skills – able to clearly articulate position in a complex organization.
  • Ability to work with key stakeholders in a multicultural environment and at various levels.
  • English skills at business level (written and spoken) is a must, any additional language is an advantage.
