Postdoctoral and Research Engineer Positions in Quantum Flagship
Quantum Flagship is seeking highly motivated and dynamic young scientists to join our team as postdoctoral researchers and research engineers in the field of quantum technologies. The successful candidates will be part of our Optoelectronics group, led by Prof. Dr. Valerio Pruneri, and will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects that bridge academia and industry.
Research Focus:
The group has extensive experience in the study and development of new advanced materials, devices, and systems for information and communication technologies, particularly displays, image sensors, and cybersecurity. Our main goal is to carry out research that has the potential to revolutionize future photonic products.
Key Research Areas:
- Quantum Cryptography: We are developing technology for continuous variable quantum key distribution and quantum random number generation, which are being commercialized by our spin-offs, Luxquanta and Quside.
- Entanglement Distribution Systems: Our next step is to develop entanglement and decoy state-based systems for secure communication and quantum connections for both ground and space segments.
- Quantum Processing and Imaging Devices: We are working on developing devices for quantum processing and imaging, with applications in various fields.
Requirements:
Candidates must hold an internationally recognized Ph.D.-equivalent degree (or evidence of its completion in the nearest future), preferably in Physics, Electrical, or Electronic Engineering. The candidate should have a proven track record in:
- Nonlinear effects and entanglement generation
- Free space communication
- Signal processing (post-processing)
- Software interfaces
