Transaction Monitoring Specialist

Empresa reconocida is seeking a highly skilled Transaction Monitoring Specialist to join our team in Barcelona. As a key member of our fraud prevention team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity of our payment systems and protecting our merchants from financial loss.
Key Responsibilities- Transaction Monitoring: Review and remediate transaction monitoring alerts to prevent fraudulent activity and ensure compliance with anti-money laundering (AML) regulations.
- Fraud Analysis: Analyze user documentation and transactional behavior to identify patterns and anomalies that may indicate fraudulent activity.
- Chargeback Management: Manage chargebacks and other payment disputes, gathering supporting evidence and processing written correspondence to recover funds for our merchants.
- Fraud Prevention: Monitor fraud rates and take necessary actions to keep them within acceptable thresholds, proactively suggesting system improvements to prevent fraudulent transactions and optimize existing fraud management processes.
- Reporting and Analytics: Create fraud data reports and provide insights to support business decisions, analyzing fraud patterns and developing new fraud detection rules.
- Collaboration and Communication: Provide support and advice to other internal departments on fraud-related matters, conducting fraud investigations upon merchant request and supporting junior analysts with the creation of SQL queries.
- 2 years of experience in the financial services industry, with knowledge of payment systems and AML procedures.
- Proficiency in English and Spanish (at least B2 level).
- Proficient with SQL and experience exploring databases.
- Advanced level of Excel.
- Experience working with business intelligence tools like Power BI.
- Good understanding of fraud metrics and patterns.
- Strong written communication skills, utilizing proper grammar and punctuation.
- Experience and agility in data analysis.
- Familiarity with customer support systems and practices.
- Proactivity and attention to detail.
- Ability to analyze information, think through difficult problems, and make critical decisions based on limited information.
