Job Title: Product TechnologistWe are seeking a highly skilled Product Technologist to join our Africa Technical team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting R&D design and development projects, including tooling and fixtures to meet corporate objectives.
Main Responsibilities:- Prepare prototypes for new products, conduct shelf-life studies, lab trials, and formulation tweaking as per guidelines.
- Ensure accurate sample preparation, including weighing, measuring, and data record keeping.
- Operate lab/kitchen and plant equipment, maintaining and operating standard laboratory equipment and practices.
- Develop cost-effective recipes in response to market or business demands.
- Support upscaling from pilot scale to industrialization.
- Document experiments and results in laboratory notebooks with full traceability.
- Establish an efficient network in the factory, aligned with the corresponding factory partner.
- Perform chemistry analysis on finished products, including pH, salt, Aw, moisture, fat, protein, and Ash.
- Provide assistance with microbiological testing of environmental swabs, raw materials, and finished products.
- Contribute to product development and the establishment and implementation of processing activities, including safety, in the Technical center Laboratory, Pilot Plant, Sensory room.
- Graduate degree in Food Science, Food Process, or Agricultural Engineering.
- 1-3 years' experience in R&D and laboratory applications environment, ingredient selection, standardization, and formulation management, and product development projects preferably in the Culinary sector.
- Knowledge and understanding of regulatory and QA/QC requirements.
- Availability to travel up to 10% internationally.
- PC skills: Knowledge in SAP and standard MS Office and project management software.
- Languages: Excellent knowledge of English is required; French is a plus.
