Job Summary
The Cellular and Molecular Mechanobiology Research Group at IBEC is seeking a highly skilled Senior Researcher to lead a project on the role of mechanosensing in neuronal function.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop and implement techniques to establish neuronal-like cell cultures, combined with different mechanical stimuli.
- Conduct a research program to unveil associated mechanosensing mechanisms.
- Supervise junior scientists and lab management activities.
- Manage specialized technical equipment.
Requirements
- Ph.D. with postdoctoral experience in mechanobiology, focusing on molecular biology aspects.
- At least six years of experience since the date of obtaining the doctorate.
- Demonstrate quality of production and scientific-technological activity, including:
- Scientific and technical contributions: articles published in scientific journals, books, or chapters of scientific and technical books, works presented at congresses, patents granted or licensed.
- Other curricular merits: management of doctoral theses, final master's theses, and final degree theses, obtaining awards, mentions, and distinctions, dissemination and scientific dissemination activities, and postdoctoral experience at Spanish and/or foreign universities or R&D centers.
- Knowledge of molecular biology and signaling is a plus.
- Competencies and skills: communication, teamwork and collaboration, commitment, proactivity, integrity, critical and analytical thinking, and a high level of English.
