About the Role

The Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) is an international biomedical research institute of excellence, based in Barcelona, Spain, with over 400 scientists from 44 countries. We are seeking a highly motivated and talented researcher to join our team and contribute to our cutting-edge research in mechanobiology.

Research Focus

The successful candidate will address a critical question in mechanobiology: how mechanical forces relate to nuclear RNA-processing organelles (biomolecular condensates) in health and/or disease? Using interdisciplinary approaches, the candidate will explore how cytoskeletal forces impact nuclear dynamics across scales, from organelle remodeling down to RNA-processing regulation, and how this physical link influences cell division.

About the Team

The Al Jord Lab is a prominent research group at the CRG, focusing on the relation between physical forces and the remodeling of essential nuclear RNA-processing organelles known as biomolecular condensates. Our research has revealed that cytoskeletal forces mechanically remodel and regulate nuclear condensates across scales for reproductive success. We are now venturing into unexplored grounds of nuclear condensate mechano-regulation across somatic cell types in health and disease.

Requirements
  • PhD in Cell & Molecular Biology, Oncology, or Biophysics
  • Strong background in mechanobiology, biomolecular condensates, or related fields
  • Excellent research skills and experience with interdisciplinary approaches
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
