Job Summary:

Holtec International is seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer/Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for conducting complex structural analyses and providing expert advice on building design and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform static and dynamic finite element modeling and analyses (FEA) using ANSYS to evaluate the structural integrity of buildings and other structures.
  • Conduct drop and impact analyses and target response using LS-DYNA to assess the safety of structures under various loading conditions.
  • Develop and implement simulation models to simulate the seismic response of freestanding structures in air or submerged in water.
  • Analyze the static and dynamic behavior of large reinforced concrete structures to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Investigate soil-structure interaction (SSI) effects on freestanding and/or anchored structures to optimize design and safety.
  • Perform beam and plate stress calculations using established principles of strength of materials to ensure structural integrity.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, civil, or structural engineering with a minimum of 4 years of experience. Master's degree will count for 2 years of experience, and Ph.D. will count for 4 years of experience.
  • Familiarity with standard industry and design codes/manuals such as ASME, ASCE, ACI, and AISC.
  • Excellent credentials in principles of solid mechanics.
  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with the latest stress analysis codes such as ANSYS, LS-DYNA, STAAD.Pro, and GT STRUDL.
  • Prior nuclear industry experience, including interactions with regulatory authorities.
