Job Summary: Holtec International is seeking a skilled Structural Engineer/Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structural engineering and analysis, with experience in finite element modeling, dynamic analysis, and soil-structure interaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform static and dynamic finite element modeling and analyses using ANSYS
- Conduct drop and impact analyses and target response using LS-DYNA
- Simulate the seismic response of freestanding structures in air or submerged in water
- Perform static and dynamic analyses of large reinforced concrete structures
- Conduct soil-structure interaction (SSI) analyses with freestanding and/or anchored structures
- Calculate beam and plate stress using established principles of strength of materials
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, civil, or structural engineering with a minimum of 4 years of experience
- Familiarity with standard industry and design codes/manuals such as ASME, ASCE, ACI, and AISC
- Excellent credentials in principles of solid mechanics
- Excellent technical writing and communication skills
Desired Skills:
- Academic or industrial experience in the latest stress analysis codes such as ANSYS, LS-DYNA, STAAD.Pro, and GT STRUDL
- Prior nuclear industry experience, including interactions with regulatory authorities
