Junior Officer for Technology Transfer and Intellectual Property

Overview and Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Technology Transfer Manager at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center, the Junior Officer for Technology Transfer and Intellectual Property will engage in activities primarily aimed at maintaining the IPR portfolio and the spin-off technology portfolio. This role encompasses IPR management tasks, including the identification, registration, protection, and facilitation of the commercialization of research outcomes.
Core Responsibilities
  • Manage Intellectual Property Rights for the AINA initiative
  • Develop the IPR strategy for the outcomes of the AINA initiative
  • Register results from the AINA initiative
  • Keep the AINA technology portfolio current
  • Assist in the protection of research outcomes in the most effective manner
    a. Aid in identifying research results
    b. Support the registration of research results through the Intellectual Property Disclosure Form
    c. Assist in ensuring appropriate protection of research outcomes
  • Help maintain an updated portfolio of technologies at BSC
Qualifications
  • Educational Background
    • Preferred qualifications include a degree in Business or Law (candidates with degrees in Science or Engineering will also be considered)
  • Required Knowledge and Experience
    • Familiarity with innovation, IPR management, or related fields is advantageous
  • Additional Skills and Experience
    • While prior work experience is not mandatory, candidates with knowledge in the following areas will have an advantage:

      ● Computer and Computational Sciences
      ● Start-up development
    • Proficiency in English, Spanish, and Catalan is essential
  • Competencies
    • Strong written and verbal communication abilities

  • The position is based at BSC within the Director's Department
